Hats off to Karen Serpa for 10 years of service
Congratulations to Karen Serpa, Museum Docent who celebrated her 10 year anniversary of employment in October. Karen is a part-time employee and wears many hats. First and foremost she is the friendly face that welcomes visitors to the Cowboy Museum and shares our unique western history. Over the years, as the Museum has grown so has Karen’s job responsibilities. She is now responsible for retail sales, merchandise inventory, maintaining our membership data base, and outreach
Bushwacker
Congratulations to Bushwacker the 2011 PBR Bucking Bull of the year, crowned during the PBR World Finals in Las Vegas last month. Bushwacker is owned by Cowboy Museum member Julio Moreno of J.Moreno Bucking Bulls, of Oakdale. Moreno, who is a PRCA Team Roper and former national finalist is no stranger to nerve racking situations in the arena, but said it was a whole different set of nerves standing behind the bucking chutes and watching your livestock buck. Let's Do Lunch
We have just received a unique donation of lunch pails that are now on display at the Oakdale Cowboy Museum. Lunch pails, what? Yes, former museum director Bryan Ehrenholm, who owned and operated the Lunch Pail restaurant on Bangs Avenue in Modesto donated nine antique western lunch pails. When Bryan opened his new establishment a few years ago he began collecting various lunch pails through antique stores, private collectors and ebay and proudly displayed them in his restaur
